UNSPSC 23181801: Coffee roasting equipment

Equipment used in the coffee roasting process which follows coffee processing and precedes coffee brewing. The most common roasting machines are of two basic types: drum and hot-air, although there are others including packed bed, tangential and centrifugal roasters. Roasters can operate in either batch or continuous modes. The roasting process consists essentially of sorting, roasting, cooling, and packaging but can also include grinding in larger scale roasting houses.

UNSPSC 23181801 Coffee roasting equipment is a Commodity code that shows no recent state or local procurement activity aligned with its nominal scope. The five recent opportunities in the source—bottled water and dispenser rentals, health center equipment acquisitions, miscellaneous kitchen supplies, water cooler rentals, and school district kitchen equipment, parts, and supplies—do not involve coffee roasting equipment. The code appears inactive or rarely used by state and local buyers in the current procurement environment, or opportunities under this code are not being captured in recent solicitation feeds.

The mismatch between the code's stated scope and actual recent activity signals that state and local procurement offices either do not tag coffee roasting equipment purchases with this code or are not actively soliciting such purchases at present. Absent representative opportunities under the code's true scope, no issuing-body pattern, geographic spread, or recent contract examples can be established from available data.
