Highspeed Optical Tracking Markerless Cameras Install
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks installation of a highspeed optical tracking markerless camera system, with quotations due August 21 at 5:00 PM MT following Amendment 02, and questions due August 13. The procurement is unrestricted, conducted as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial products and services under FAR Part 12.
Place of performance is NIST-Boulder, Colorado (325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305). The contractor must complete installation, configuration, and calibration of 62 PrimeX13 cameras to a free-standing truss system, install Ethernet infrastructure, and deliver software and hardware expansion including passive markers, active marker kits compatible with OptiTrack and Motive software, markerless capture software for body and hands, and 3-year licensing for base software features plus an additional 3-year license for base tracking software on a separate workstation. Work must be completed within 60 days after receipt of order. Performance acceptance testing requires spatial accuracy not to exceed 10 centimeters within the capture volume. HSPD-12 compliance with background investigations is required for personnel requiring facility or system access. Contractors must provide safety equipment and plans, complete health hazard assessments, and comply with OSHA standards.
NAICS code 334310 (Audio and Video Equipment Manufacturing) applies, with a small business size standard of 750 employees. Solicitation 2/2 8/4/26, 3:20 PM SOURCES SOUGHT Highspeed Optical Tracking Markerless Cameras and Install
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of providing highspeed optical tracking markerless cameras and installation services, with responses due by June 26, 2026. This sources sought is not a request for quotation and does not commit the government to award; it is being used to determine acquisition method and identify potential small business set-aside eligibility. If at least two qualified small businesses can fulfill the requirement, NIST will solicit this acquisition as a small business set-aside; otherwise, NIST will conduct a competitive procurement open to all responsible sources, including large businesses and firms in the SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, and VOSB categories.
Work involves installation, configuration, and calibration of 62 existing PrimeX13 cameras to a free-standing truss system in the PSITC room at NIST-Boulder for the Public Safety Communications Research Division, including Ethernet cable installation. The scope encompasses delivery and integration of software and hardware expansion components (two sets of passive markers, eight active marker kits, markerless capture software, and three-year base tracking software licensing), development of a site-specific OSHA-compliant safety plan within seven days of award, and health hazard assessments and medical evaluations with HSPD-12 security compliance including staffing roster submission within fourteen days of contract effective date. System installation and configuration must be delivered within sixty days after receipt of order. Acceptance testing requires marker point measurements not to exceed ten centimeters deviation; government retains discretion to waive this test. Equipment ownership transfers to NIST upon acceptance.
NAICS 334310 applies with a small business size standard of 750 employees. PSC 5836 (Video Recording and Reproducing Equipment) is assigned.
