About Tennessee Valley Authority
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federally owned corporation and agency of the U.S. government that provides electricity generation, transmission and economic development services in parts of seven southeastern states. Through federal contract awards, TVA has provided a range of goods and services in support of government facilities and operations, research and development efforts, and infrastructure projects.
As the prime contractor, TVA has been awarded over $110 million in federal contracts from the Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management and Office of Science to provide electrical utility services, substation maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and sensor technology research and development at DOE facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. These delivery orders and contracts help ensure continued access to electricity at sites conducting vital environmental cleanup work and scientific research. TVA has also received contracts from the Department of Defense and other agencies valued at over $65 million combined for utility services, energy conservation initiatives, and courthouse construction through the Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESC) program.
TVA has not received any prime federal grants. As a sub recipient, TVA was awarded funding for a project related to protecting the electric grid from geomagnetic and electromagnetic impacts.
TVA holds one active Indefinite Delivery Contract from the Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management, with a potential value of $450 million. Under this contract, TVA has received over $109 million in delivery orders to provide electrical utility services, substation maintenance, upgrades, and research at Oak Ridge Reservation through September 2030. Additionally, TVA holds a $12 million Basic Ordering Agreement for energy conservation projects at Army facilities in the Southeast.
