CNM Ingenuity Inc.

CNM Ingenuity Inc., a New Mexico Research Park entity based in Albuquerque and affiliated with Central New Mexico Community College, operates as a nonprofit educational institution providing workforce development, accelerator-stage startup support, and grant-funded technical training programs to federal agencies. The organization holds a single prime federal grant and participates as a sub-recipient on two federal grant programs, with no prime contracting footprint.

CNM Ingenuity's federal engagement centers on workforce development and innovation acceleration. As prime recipient, the organization holds a $158,000 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration grant (CFDA 20.235 — Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grants) running from September 1, 2023 through September 30, 2025, aimed at recruiting and enrolling at least 32 qualified students from underserved communities into the college's Commercial Driver License program to expand the pool of CDL holders with enhanced operator safety training. As a sub-recipient, CNM Ingenuity participates in a University of New Mexico-led federal grant supporting RALi-WEST workforce development, where it chairs a coalition of community colleges to develop comprehensive training programs for water treatment and industrial assembly technicians across the Southwest. The organization also sub-received funding from a second federal grant (awarded June 27, 2022) supporting the Hyperspace Challenge, an accelerator that scouts early-stage technology companies and universities solving space technology problem statements for government partners including the Air Force Research Laboratory and the U.S. Space Force, and provides training in customer discovery, government contracting, prototyping, manufacturing, and Internet-of-Things development.

CNM Ingenuity has received three federal awards (one prime, two sub) totaling $604 thousand in obligated dollars across two distinct federal agencies — the National Science Foundation and the Department of Transportation — with one award annually over the past three years. The organization's funding concentration reflects a narrow grant footprint anchored to regional workforce and innovation initiatives rather than competitive federal contracting.
