The City of Las Cruces was awarded a $10,000,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) under the Natural Gas Distribution Infrastructure Safety and Modernization Grant Program (CFDA 20.708). This grant funding will support the city in repairing, rehabilitating, or replacing its natural gas distribution pipeline system, as well as acquiring equipment to reduce safety incidents, fatalities, and economic losses, while also eliminating methane leaks.
