The Borough of Dormont in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania is seeking sealed proposals for the W. The project involves purchasing and installing new traffic signal equipment at the intersection of W. Liberty Avenue and Dormont Avenue, including traffic signal mast arms, LED countdown pedestrian signals, ADA compliant pushbuttons, emergency vehicle preemption systems, and battery backup power supplies. All proposals must remain firm for 60 days, and bidders are required to submit a certified check or bidder's bond equal to 10% of the total proposal amount as a performance guarantee. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates are mandatory for this contract, and the successful bidder must enter into an agreement within 15 days of contract award notification.

While the procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises, bidders must be a surety company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania. The project involves comprehensive traffic signal infrastructure replacement, suggesting potential opportunities for electrical contractors, civil engineering firms, and traffic systems integrators with experience in municipal infrastructure projects. Detailed project specifications, including drawings, instructions to bidders, general conditions, and proposal forms, are available at no cost on the PennBid site. The comprehensive nature of the project, which includes signal wiring, conduit installation, signage, junction boxes, and complete traffic control and restoration, indicates a potentially significant investment in municipal infrastructure. Though a specific budget range is not disclosed, the complexity of the project suggests a substantial capital investment in modernizing the intersection's traffic management systems.
