Villa Rica Elementary Playground with Notice of Intent to Utilize

The state and local contracting opportunity is for the construction of a large and small playground at Villa Rica Elementary School in Candler County, Georgia. The procurement is being led by the Carroll County Board of Education, a state entity in Georgia, which intends to utilize a cooperative purchasing agreement with Sourcewell, a government cooperative purchasing program. The contract scope involves the supply and installation of playground equipment, swing sets, climbing structures, and safety surfacing. The contract term is for 1 year, with an estimated total contract value of $385,000. The procurement process involves a competitive bidding procedure, with proposals due by February 8, 2024. Potential vendors must be capable of providing the identified goods and services at the same or better value as the existing cooperative contract.

The contract has no specific set-aside requirements, but the notice includes an example of a separate playground resurfacing project in Vermont that was set aside for certified small business enterprises. The incumbent vendor for the Sourcewell cooperative contract is Playworx/Play Power, and the contract was originally competitively awarded by Sourcewell on August 3, 2018. The funding for the Villa Rica Elementary playground project is expected to come from a corporate donation, in addition to the Carroll County Board of Education's general funds.
