About this opportunity
The City of Peoria is soliciting quotes for Vacant Lot Clearing Services through Request for Quotation (RFQ) 19-24, specifically targeting Group 19 which involves clearing two lots located at 1525 and 1529 S Easton Avenue in Peoria County, Illinois. The procurement requires pre-qualified contractors already contracted with the City of Peoria to perform comprehensive lot maintenance, including selective tree removal, fence disassembly, brush and debris clearance, concrete step removal, tree limb trimming, lot grading, and grass seeding. Contractors are strongly advised to conduct site visits to accurately assess the work scope, as each property presents unique characteristics. The evaluation criteria will prioritize the lowest, most qualified bidder, with a focus on complete and timely project execution. Key deadlines include a proposal submission due date of September 26, 2025, with contractors required to commence work within 10 days of contract award and complete the project within 30 days, weather permitting.
The solicitation does not explicitly detail specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises. Contractors must submit before and after photographic documentation of completed work, along with invoices, directly to Shawn Johnson for verification and payment processing, which is expected to take 2-3 weeks. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the available documentation. The procurement appears to be a standard municipal lot maintenance project without indication of incumbent vendors or complex technological integration requirements. Successful bidders must demonstrate prior experience with urban lot clearing, adherence to municipal specifications, and the capability to complete work within stringent time constraints. Failure to initiate work within the specified timeframe may result in bid rejection or contract termination, underscoring the importance of precise project management and responsiveness.
