About this opportunity
The Community College of Rhode Island, through the Rhode Island Department of Purchases, is issuing Request for Quotation (RFQ) 26006590 to procure Universal Robots UR7e Academy Certification Packages with mobile bases. The procurement seeks two complete UR7e Academy Certification Packages, each including a collaborative robot with 7.5kg payload capacity, 850mm reach, six axes, 12-inch touchscreen, force sensing tool flange, three-point teach pendant, and Academy CORE curriculum license. Additionally, two Academy Hardware Sets are required, featuring conveyor systems, sensors, I/O simulation test boxes, 3D printed workpieces, Robotiq Hand-e adaptive grippers, and aluminum extrusion mobile workstations. Deliverables include all systems hardware, software, on-site assembly and setup, comprehensive operator training, 15-month warranty coverage, shipping, and import duties as applicable. The solicitation opened April 30, 2026, with a deadline for vendor questions by May 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDT and a proposal submission deadline of May 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDT. The initial contract period will commence approximately July 1, 2026, for fifteen months, with an optional renewal for one additional 12-month period contingent upon vendor performance and fund availability. All submissions must be made electronically through Ocean State Procures; no substitutions are permitted for any hardware, software, services, or warranty components.
The procurement is open to all vendors without set-aside restrictions; however, Rhode Island's Minority Business Enterprise participation requirements mandate that 15 percent of the total contract dollar value be awarded to MBE/WBE firms. Prospective vendors must register in Ocean State Procures and complete the required Vendor Certification Questionnaire with appropriate statutory certifications and disclosures. Vendors must maintain comprehensive insurance coverage including general liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence, workers' compensation of $100,000 per accident, automobile liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit, and crime insurance of either $500,000 or 50 percent of the contract amount, whichever is greater, along with professional services liability of $2,000,000 per occurrence with a $2,000,000 annual aggregate. Pricing must be submitted as a total lump sum fixed fee with itemized breakdowns for hardware, software, on-site assembly and setup with timeframes, operator training, warranty details and costs, shipping with estimated lead time and cost, and import duties. The State reserves the right to make one or multiple awards or reject all bids at its sole discretion, and a contract administrative fee of 0.33 percent of the total annual contract value will be withheld at the time of invoice payment. No specific budget range or incumbent vendor information has been disclosed in the solicitation documents.
