About this opportunity

The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is seeking bids for the purchase of a truck mounted valve operator, located in Madison, Wisconsin, within Dane County. The procurement specifically targets a Wachs Heavy Duty TM-7 Plus Valve Operator (or approved equivalent), which includes a TC-100 ruggedized controller/datalogger, hydraulic cooler, and a Wachs Utility 16 H.P. gas driven engine power pack. Qualified bidders must have a minimum of three years of experience providing truck mounted valve operators and must submit a lump sum price using the provided Bid Form A. The bid solicitation requires written warranties and a delivery timeframe of 12 weeks after award. Sealed bids will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. CST on January 6, 2025, at the District office located at 1610 Moorland Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53713. Potential bidders must submit questions by December 26, 2024, and are advised to check for addenda 72 hours before the bid deadline. The District will award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all specified requirements.

The procurement does not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The solicitation indicates the District is federal and state tax exempt, with payment terms of net 30 days after proper invoice submission. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the specification suggests compatibility with existing infrastructure through the requirement of an approved equivalent valve operator. No specific budget range or award value is explicitly stated in the documentation. Bidders may submit proposals both physically and electronically, with all bid responses becoming public record. Contact for questions is Erik Rehr, Maintenance and Reliability Manager, who can be reached at 608-709-1833 or erikr@madsewer.org. The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or waive technical irregularities in the best interest of the District.
