About this opportunity
The State of Maine Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for truck air jack stands with quotes due March 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. local time. A preference for in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine applies in case of tie bids with equal price, quality, and availability.
The scope covers 100% air-operated jack stands with a 20,000-pound capacity, minimum starting height of 17.5 inches, maximum lift height of 48 to 52 inches with extension, 8-inch minimum lift travel, width not exceeding 13 inches, and overall length of 42 to 48 inches with removable handle. Minimum inside saddle width is 4 inches. Equipment must include heavy-duty extension tubes and roller wheels, comply with all applicable OSHA and ANSI standards, and use lead-free paint and primer. Vendors must supply one complete parts manual and one complete service manual per unit (CD format acceptable) and may be required to provide training within eight weeks of delivery. A one-year parts and labor warranty applies, with the manufacturer's standard warranty taking precedence if longer.
Delivery is to Maine DOT Fleet Service at 105 Capitol Street, Augusta, Maine, with all shipping costs included in bid pricing. Maine DOT reserves the right to pre-inspect equipment before delivery. Bidders must submit detailed specification sheets and identify any exceptions or questions through the Question and Answer link during the bid period.
The State reserves the right to increase or decrease order quantities by up to 10%, award on an item-by-item basis or as a group, and reject any or all bids. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in evaluation; discounts under 20 days will not factor into award decisions. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best overall value based on price, quality, specification conformity, delivery dates, and ultimate cost.
