About this opportunity

Drew Charter School in Fulton County, Georgia, is seeking qualified contractors for a comprehensive track and field replacement project at their Yates Campus through Request for Proposals (RFP #FY25-004). The procurement involves removing and replacing the existing artificial turf on a 380' x 205' soccer/football field and resurfacing the surrounding 400M eight-lane running track. Key deliverables include installing a new Daktronics-type scoreboard, two concrete bleacher pads, an elevated scorekeeper area, security camera conduits, perimeter drainage, and concrete stairs. The project requires vendors to provide separate pricing for turf and track components while identifying potential cost savings from combined implementation. Evaluation criteria will assess proposal completeness (15 points), cost (40 points), project approach/methodology (30 points), and relevant experience (15 points), with an additional 5 points available for local vendors from Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, or Gwinnett counties. Critical dates include a pre-proposal meeting on December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM ET, questions due by December 19, 2024, and proposal submissions required by January 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET via the Bidnet Direct Platform.

While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly mentioned, the RFP does provide a slight advantage to local vendors through the additional 5-point scoring criteria. Vendors must commit necessary resources to complete the project, with the contract expected to begin around March 1, 2025, and project completion required by mid-September 2025. The vendor will be responsible for providing temporary fencing and security for the staging area, which is limited to the Athletic Field parking lot. Proposals must remain valid for 120 days and include comprehensive fees covering all labor, equipment, supplies, services, insurance, and overhead costs. Although a specific budget range is not detailed in the available documentation, the project involves significant infrastructure improvements to an existing athletic facility. Interested contractors must be prepared to handle a complex renovation that includes both artificial turf replacement and track resurfacing, with attention to detailed specifications and comprehensive project management.
