About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Corrections is requesting quotes for thermographic video survey and well casing repair services at Sheridan Correctional Center, with quotes due July 31, 2026.
The scope involves conducting a thermographic video survey of Well #1, originally drilled in 1940 to 885 feet with a 12-inch casing to 240 feet. Following the survey, the vendor must submit an itemized quote for any identified repairs—with labor, materials, and other costs separated—for facility approval before proceeding. The well was last serviced in 2023 with new column pipe and pump/motor installation. All work is performed at Sheridan Correctional Center, 4017 E. 2603rd Rd., Sheridan, Illinois, during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) with minimal operational interference. No subcontractors are permitted.
The contract is a one-time service agreement with an initial term commencing upon execution and ending June 30, 2027. Vendor bids must remain firm for 120 days from opening. Award goes to the responsive and responsible vendor submitting the lowest price. Material costs are estimated at $8,000 for the contract term as a billing mechanism; the maximum contract amount will be entered by the State prior to execution.
The vendor must carry property damage and public liability insurance, providing a Certificate of Insurance at contract execution and annually thereafter. All materials must be commercial manufacture specifically designed for water well installation and maintenance. Vendor staff must pass security background checks and provide full names, dates of birth, and social security numbers within five working days of award. Travel time and expenses are not reimbursable. Invoices must be itemized and submitted to the Business Office with Chief Engineer sign-off required.
