About this opportunity
The City of Sanford's Finance Department Purchasing Division is conducting an Informal Request for Quote (IRFQ) 24/25-303 for a Wastewater Aeration System Blower Package for the South Water Resource Center (SWRC) located in Seminole County, Florida. The procurement seeks a specific Tuthill Model # 4512-A4L2CV6-A-X Equalizer Model DF Blower or an equivalent unit with precise technical specifications, including splash lubrication, 3,326 RPM operation, 39 BHP at operating conditions, a 188-degree Fahrenheit discharge temperature, and a 96 dB noise level. The required deliverables include a 50 HP motor, elevated base with V-belt drive, inlet and discharge silencers, pressure relief valve, gauges, and a sound/weather enclosure. Optional additional items include replacement filter elements, synthetic oil, V-belts, and a repair kit. The quote is due on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. Local Time, with a project completion timeline of 180 days from the purchase order issuance. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation including insurance certificates, conflict of interest statements, references, and compliance documents such as E-Verify and Americans with Disabilities Act affidavits.
The solicitation does not explicitly specify set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The City reserves the right to reject any or all parts of the solicitation and will award to the most responsive, responsible bidder. Payment terms are established at net 30 days upon delivery and acceptance, with potential future renewals up to five years based on Consumer Price Index adjustments. While no incumbent vendor is mentioned, the procurement appears focused on replacing existing aeration system infrastructure with a specific technical configuration. The solicitation does not provide a precise budget range, but the comprehensive technical specifications suggest a substantial investment in specialized wastewater treatment equipment. Potential bidders should carefully review the technical requirements and ensure their proposed equipment meets or exceeds the specified performance parameters for the 850 SCFM @ 7.5 psig aeration system blower package.
