About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is requesting competitive bids for replacement of four wind-damaged awnings at the St. Pete Headquarters Campus, located at 100 Eighth Avenue SE, St. Petersburg, Florida, with bids due September 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET and a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit on August 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM ET.

The scope comprises removal of damaged fabric covers from existing awning frames and fabrication and installation of new all-weather exterior woven acrylic or polyester fiber-reinforced vinyl fabric covers at three bid components: the RMI Entrance (base bid), JU West Terrace and JU East Terrace (Alternate Bid #1), and RMI Rooftop (Alternate Bid #2). All new fabric must include a minimum 10-year warranty, with all seams and edges heat-welded and double-stitched using UV sunlight and marine environment-resistant thread carrying a lifetime warranty. Attachment methods vary by location: rope and grommet (laced) methods for RMI Entrance and RMI Rooftop; staple stitch methods for the JU terraces. The contractor is responsible for obtaining all field dimensions onsite, as client-provided dimensions are approximate. A one-year labor, materials, and equipment warranty covering all adjustments and replacement of defective items is required from final completion.

The estimated project budget is $99,500. The contract term is one year upon purchase-order issuance, with provisions for extension if circumstances beyond the contractor's control warrant delays. Project completion is required by March 31, 2027. Award will be made to the responsive, responsible bidder submitting the lowest total price. Liquidated damages are assessed at $250 per calendar day for delays not attributable to circumstances beyond the contractor's control.

Bidders must be registered in MyFloridaMarketPlace and SunBiz, provide a minimum of three project references, and attend the mandatory pre-bid conference. Written questions are due August 19, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET, with responses posted by August 25, 2026. Public bid opening is September 3, 2026, with anticipated award on September 8, 2026. Subcontracting is permitted; contractors must submit a List of Subcontractors and a Subcontractor Minority Status Report with each invoice.
