About this opportunity

The City of South Salt Lake is seeking bids for the SSLC Davis Tank Lid Replacement project, a comprehensive water infrastructure maintenance contract. The procurement involves the complete renovation of a steel drinking water storage tank, with specific requirements including full lid removal and replacement, interior and exterior tank surface treatment, and site restoration. Key deliverables encompass abrasive blasting and coating of the tank's interior, selective exterior recoating, thorough interior cleaning, and comprehensive site rehabilitation. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for August 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the South Salt Lake City Council Room, where contractor attendance will be formally recorded. Bid submissions are due by 2:00 PM on September 12, 2025, through the Utah Public Procurement Place website (Bonfire), with bid opening and public reading occurring at 2:30 PM the same day. Bidders must provide a 5% bid security, and all interested parties can obtain project specifications from Bonfire or directly from City Engineer Chris Merket after August 12, 2025.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the procurement documents. The contract appears open to standard commercial contractors with water infrastructure maintenance capabilities. While no incumbent vendor information was provided, the project involves working with an existing steel drinking water storage tank that requires comprehensive rehabilitation. The city reserves the right to reject all bids or waive any technical irregularities, suggesting flexibility in the procurement process. Although a specific budget range was not disclosed, the detailed scope of work implies a significant municipal infrastructure investment. Interested contractors can obtain additional information by contacting Jacob Moser at 801-483-6038. The project's technical complexity and specific requirements suggest that qualified bidders will need demonstrated expertise in municipal water infrastructure maintenance and tank rehabilitation.
