About this opportunity
The State of North Carolina, Department of Adult Correction, is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of commercial and institutional quality disposable plastic sporks. The IFB seeks competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors to establish an Agency Specific Term Contract to provide the sporks on an "as needed" basis over a 3-year contract term. The IFB provides detailed specifications for the required sporks, including dimensions, materials, packaging, and delivery requirements. Vendors must submit bids by November 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM ET, with the contract award to be made at a later date. The IFB outlines the pricing, estimated quantities, warranty, and other contractual terms and conditions. Vendors must also provide information on their financial condition, references, and HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) participation. The State reserves the right to award the contract to a single vendor or to make separate awards for individual line items.
The previous contract was awarded to All Florida Paper using the Safety Zone/CPPMDSKBKW1 item code, and the same vendor has been in place since December 2021. The State is expecting to place an initial order for 9,000 cases of Sporks, with 3,000 cases to be delivered on 2/11/25, 3,000 cases on 3/4/25, and 3,000 cases on 4/8/25. The current price paid for each case of 1,000 Sporks is $10.30. The State has indicated that black Sporks are not acceptable, and the previous ordering frequency was approximately every 3-4 months depending on usage.
