About this opportunity

The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) is seeking to establish a 21-month sole source contract with Xerox Corporation to provide maintenance and volume print pricing on high-speed Xerox printers located at the Willard Ice Building in Springfield and the 33 South State location in Chicago. The contract will cover 10 specific Xerox Nuvera printer models, with 4 of the older models slated for replacement. The contract term is estimated to run from October 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024, with no renewal options. DoIT has cited Xerox's requirement that only Xerox-certified technicians can service their high-speed printers in order to maintain the warranty, and the critical importance of these printers to mainframe and midrange production systems across multiple state agencies as the key justifications for the sole source procurement. The estimated value of the initial contract term is $1,006,157.04.

This sole source procurement is limited to Xerox Corporation, as the state does not want to void the printer warranties by using alternative providers. DoIT has utilized sole source contracts with Xerox for these services since 2009, with the most recent 2-year contract valued at $2,103,792. The longer contract term will lock in rates and save the state an estimated 3% over annual increases. A public hearing will be held on October 5, 2022 to receive comments from interested parties on the appropriateness of the sole source award, which may be canceled if no requests for a hearing are received by September 30, 2022.
