About this opportunity
The Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) is seeking a small business vendor to supply a minimum of 1,000 Cedar Creek Matrix Multi Tools for procurement in Knox County, Tennessee. The procurement opportunity, identified by Control No. 3895, requires vendors to provide multi tools with specific parameters, including no substitute models and mandatory KUB logo placement. Bids are due on June 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM EDT, with submissions accepted electronically through www.bidnetdirect.com or via sealed hard copy to KUB's Procurement Department. Evaluation criteria will primarily focus on the lowest submitted unit price, with the total order ranging between 1,000-1,100 units. Vendors must submit a completed Small Business Affidavit to qualify, and the anticipated Notice of Award and Purchase Order will be issued around July 1, 2025, with all items required to be delivered by July 21, 2025. A teleconference is available for bidders using the number (213) 519-5893 with Conference ID 850 948 822#, and all bid-related communications should be directed to Marilee Metzger at Marilee.Metzger@kub.org.
This procurement opportunity is specifically designated for small businesses, defined as entities with 50 or fewer employees and annual revenues of $10,000,000 or less. Vendors must self-perform at least 51% of the work and comply with KUB's small business program requirements. The procurement appears to encourage participation from minority-owned and women-owned business enterprises, with strict compliance expectations and potential contract termination for deviations from bid specifications. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the procurement requires the selected vendor to work closely with KUB, including providing a proof of the multi tool before production and incorporating the KUB logo using a vector file that will be provided post-award. Though an exact budget is not specified, the contract value will be determined by the unit price submitted by the lowest bidder, with payment terms of NET 30 DAYS from invoice approval. The procurement emphasizes KUB's commitment to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and supporting small businesses in the Tennessee region.
