About this opportunity
The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is soliciting written bids from qualified bidders to establish a three-year contract for sign washing services in FDOT District Two, which includes Baker, Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee, and Union Counties. The FDOT is seeking contractors to clean the sign faces on state-maintained, non-Interstate roads to prolong the life of the signs and improve visibility. The contract will require the successful bidder to provide labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals to complete an estimated 48,000 sign panels over six complete cleaning cycles. Bidders must meet minimum qualifications, including three years of relevant experience and necessary permits and licenses. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 PM on March 21, 2023, and will be publicly opened at 2:30 PM the same day. The FDOT will award the contract to the responsive and responsible bidder that submits the lowest bid price per cleaning cycle.
The FDOT has indicated a preference for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation, and bidders are requested to submit information on their DBE utilization plan. The contract is subject to compliance with various federal and state nondiscrimination statutes and regulations, as well as the requirements of the Florida Inspector General. The FDOT has not provided information on any incumbent vendors or current contract values, but has estimated the total panel count across the six-cycle contract term to be 48,000. Payment for services rendered will be subject to the MFMP Transaction Fee, and liquidated damages may be assessed for failure to complete the services by the designated completion date.
