About this opportunity

The Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (MCDHH) is seeking to develop a list of pre-qualified individuals to serve as Screening Evaluators for its various interpreter and transliterator screenings. The screenings currently offered include American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters, English-based signed Transliterators, and Deaf Interpreters, with the potential for additional screenings to be added during the contract term. Qualified applicants must possess 3-5 years of experience as a practicing interpreter or consumer of interpreter services, successfully complete the applicable MCDHH Screening Evaluator Training, have a flexible schedule, and demonstrate teamwork skills. Compensation for Screening Evaluator services will be fee-for-service, paid at a rate of $300 for a half day and $600 for a full day. This is an open enrollment process, and applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis through June 30, 2027.

While this procurement falls under the Commonwealth's Small Business Purchasing Program, it is functionally not open to small businesses as the qualified applicants must be individuals with the required skills and experience. The estimated value of the procurement is $150,000, and MCDHH reserves the right to adjust compensation rates and modify the contract during the term as needed. There are no details provided regarding incumbent vendors or current contractors, nor any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration.
