About this opportunity
The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is requesting documented quotes for ranch road maintenance at Fishers Peak State Park in Trinidad, with quotes due June 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM. A 5 percent bid preference applies to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) registered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and operating in Colorado; SDVOSB certification documentation is required for consideration.
The scope encompasses maintenance on four priority road sections totaling approximately 1.65 miles: Lost Meadow (0.70 mile, 10 water bars), Little Baldy (0.15 mile, 2 water bars), McBride Road (0.40 mile, 6 water bars), and Morley Dome (0.40 mile, 7 water bars and one 30-foot, 18-inch culvert installation). Work includes ditch maintenance, blading and shaping of native roads, water bar construction, and culvert installation using sandstone and volcanic rock materials as appropriate. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals; perform at least 50 percent of total contract cost in-house; and obtain an exemption number from the Colorado Department of Revenue.
The estimated project budget ranges from $70,000 to $100,000, with all bid items priced as lump sum amounts. Project completion is required by June 30, 2026, with liquidated damages set at $5.00 per calendar day for work remaining incomplete after the deadline. Work hours on site are limited to 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The contractor must provide a Certificate of Good Standing, register to do business in Colorado, and maintain workers' compensation insurance, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit, automobile liability of $1,000,000 each accident, and pollution liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, with the State of Colorado named as an additional insured on the commercial general liability policy. Questions are due in writing by June 2, 2026 at 4:00 PM to cheryl.bean@state.co.us. Notice of intent to award is tentatively scheduled for June 3, 2026, with purchase order issuance by June 8, 2026.
