About this opportunity

Fayette County Public Schools in Georgia is requesting proposals for a multiyear contract to supply student transportation school buses under RFP 27-005-076, with responses due before 9:00 a.m. ET on December 3, 2026. The solicitation identifies no set-aside, preference program, or specific funding source.

The district anticipates procuring special-needs 48- to 54-passenger buses and general-use 72-passenger buses, ordering approximately 15 buses annually in a combination of both types over a five-year period. Orders are placed in late fall or early winter for delivery before the last week of school in May. Specifications for both bus types appear in Appendices A and B. Respondents must include manufacturer names, diagrams, capacities, and specification sheets for all components, along with product data, certifications, technical literature, manuals, and warranty documents.

The contract term begins at award and runs through June 30, 2027, with an option to renew for up to five additional terms. Deliveries go to the Goza Road Operations Center, 939 Goza Road, Fayetteville, Georgia, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET, with coordination required at least 48 hours in advance.

Proposals are scored on a 100-point weighted system: qualifications and experience (30 points), submitted proposal quality (40 points), and price and cost (30 points). The lowest responsive proposed cost receives the maximum 30 points, with higher costs scored proportionally. The district reserves the right to conduct post-proposal interviews and presentations and to reject any or all proposals. Final contract approval requires authorization from the Superintendent, the Board of Education, or both.

Submissions also require three letters of recommendation from prior clients, a completed cost proposal on the provided form, a current certificate of insurance, a W-9, and a signed solicitation response form. Proposals go to Matthew Roberts, Purchasing Manager, at the LaFayette Educational Center, 205 LaFayette Avenue, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214, or by email to roberts.matthew@fcboe.org.
