About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking competitive sealed bids for Safety Light Bars through Solicitation No. DOT-ITB-25-9051-DG, with the procurement covering 52-inch and 22-inch tri-color (red/green/white/amber) light bars for agency vehicles. The solicitation requires bidders to provide light bars that meet SAE J845 & J1318 certifications, including comprehensive mounting hardware, electrical components, controllers, and installation kits. Technical specifications mandate detailed documentation of product capabilities, service network, and statewide coverage within 50-150 miles of FDOT operations centers. Key procurement dates include technical questions deadline of February 26, 2025, bid submission deadline of March 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST, and public bid opening on March 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM EST. Evaluation criteria will focus on lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with specific emphasis on detailed specifications, SAE certifications, and proof of statewide service capability.

The solicitation includes preferential considerations for Veteran Business Enterprise, Drug-Free Workplace, and Minority Business Enterprise vendors, particularly in scenarios with identical pricing. A 5% price preference is provided for Florida-based vendors competing against out-of-state vendors from states without reciprocal preferences. All bidders must be actively registered in the MyFloridaMarketplace system and demonstrate ability to provide comprehensive statewide service. The contract will be a two-year agreement with potential for up to three additional one-year renewal periods. The anticipated contract value is approximately $500,000, with pricing requirements specified as firm, net delivered prices FOB destination and delivery expected within 30 days of purchase order receipt. While Ecco is noted as a specified manufacturer, the agency will consider alternative manufacturers that meet the detailed technical specifications and service requirements.
