About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting quotes for medical equipment maintenance, calibration, and testing services with quotes due February 19, 2013. The scope includes semi-annual preventive maintenance, calibration verification, inspection, and testing of hospital medical equipment; the first inspection cycle is due by July 15, 2013, and the second by January 15, 2014.
The vendor must maintain a comprehensive equipment inventory database, perform corrective maintenance when available, conduct incoming inspections of new equipment within one week of receipt, and deliver clinical engineering consultation. Scheduled inspections must be completed within 30 days of the due date; preventive and repair reports are due within one month of service completion. The vendor applies inspection stickers to equipment with date, inspector initials, and next-inspection date, and submits two copies of all reports to the hospital Director of Facilities. The vendor must provide proof of licensure, attend hospital safety orientation before performing on-site work, furnish hard-copy documentation detailing testing and preventive-maintenance procedures for each equipment type, and notify the hospital of any medical alerts or recall notices. Travel costs are included in the contracted price with no additional charges permitted.
Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall economy. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities and technicalities, accept individual items or groups of items, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. In case of tie bids, preference is given to Maine-based bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. Quotes must be submitted electronically by 2:00 p.m. local time on the closing date; all questions must be submitted through the online Q&A portal only. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine sales and use taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes.
