About this opportunity
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia on behalf of Georgia Institute of Technology is soliciting bids on rolling steel door replacement at the GTRI Smyrna campus under IFB 2027-IFB-GTRI-0015, with bids due September 8, 2026. This is a sole brand solicitation; the Cookson EDS20 Insulated Rolling Steel Door is specified and substitutions will not be accepted.
The scope requires removal of one existing 20-foot by 20-foot non-insulated rolling steel door and installation of a new 20-foot by 20-foot Cookson EDS20 insulated rolling steel door at CCRF Building 12, 2001 Dixie Avenue, Smyrna, Georgia 30080. Installation must occur on the same business day during normal business hours (7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). The new door system includes the insulated rolling curtain and slats, guide assemblies, barrel assembly, mounting hardware, gearhead operator, light curtain safety system, push-button control station, and integration with the existing interior loop activation system. The contractor must verify compatibility of the new operator with the existing 480V, 3 HP electrical service, obtain security escorts while on the GTRI Smyrna campus, and test all operational functions, safety devices, and control systems upon completion. The contractor must provide manufacturer warranty documentation and product specifications.
Proposals must be firm-fixed-price representing total project cost without separate line-item pricing unless specifically requested by GTRI. Submissions must include manufacturer and model information, warranty information, estimated installation schedule, written confirmation that the project can be completed within the one-day outage window, and technical documentation demonstrating SOW compliance.
The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Jack Land is the point of contact. Purchasing questions should be directed to Georgia Institute of Technology Procurement and Business Services at 404-894-5000.
