About this opportunity
The Town of Bristol, Rhode Island is seeking bids for a comprehensive Road Resurfacing Project (Bid No. 1068) targeting multiple residential streets including Aaron Avenue, Ansonia Avenue, Betsy Drive, Birchwood Drive, Cliff Drive, Gloria Street, Harrison Street, Kingswood Road, Pagnano Street, Sandra Drive, and Sandy Lane. The procurement involves extensive road rehabilitation work encompassing pavement removal, reclamation, base and surface course installation, drainage structure rebuilding, driveway reconstruction, and the installation of five sand filter best management practices (BMPs). Key project deliverables include complete roadway reconstruction, stormwater management improvements, and infrastructure upgrades with precise engineering specifications. The bid is scheduled for opening on June 18, 2025, with a projected project completion timeline of 130 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Contractors will be required to perform detailed site assessments, protect existing infrastructure, minimize environmental disturbance, and comply with all technical specifications outlined in the project documents prepared by BETA Engineering.
The contract includes specific procurement requirements targeting minority and veteran-owned businesses, with a 10% Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation goal and a 3% Veteran's Business Enterprise (VBE) participation goal. The project is partially funded through the Municipal Road and Bridge Revolving Fund (MRBRF) and will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Bidders must submit a 5% bid security and comply with prevailing wage rates and state and federal requirements, including obtaining environmental permits from the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) and the Coastal Resource Management Council (CRMC). While specific budget details are not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the project involving multiple street reconstructions, drainage work, and BMP installations suggests a significant municipal infrastructure investment. Prospective contractors will need to demonstrate technical expertise in road resurfacing, drainage infrastructure, and environmental compliance to be considered for this project.
