About this opportunity
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS) solution to replace its existing Risk Management Application. The RFI seeks information from vendors regarding industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in risk management software. IDOT is interested in understanding the capabilities of potential COTS solutions that could be used to process and track insurance claims and losses related to highways, installations, and department vehicles. Vendors may be invited to provide short 30-minute software demonstrations via Webex, which will be scheduled in a random order. Responses to the RFI are due by February 1, 2022 at 5:00 pm Central Time and should include a high-level description of current industry practices related to risk management software.
This RFI is not a procurement method and will not result in a contract award. IDOT clarifies that a response does not provide any advantages in potential future solicitations. The purpose of the RFI is to help IDOT better understand emerging technologies to prepare for possible future procurements, not to select a vendor or qualified vendors. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. IDOT has not secured funding or determined a timeline for a potential Request for Proposal (RFP) related to this project, and there is currently no incumbent vendor providing these services. The RFI does not provide details on the estimated funding source or budget for this potential future procurement.
