About this opportunity

Alpine School District Department of Purchasing (with performance by Timpanogos School District Professional Services) is requesting statements of qualifications from architectural firms to design a high school gym addition at OREM High School under Utah Procurement Code 63G-6a Part 15, with qualifications due October 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. through the Utah Public Procurement Place online portal. This is a qualifications-based selection process with no pricing component in vendor submissions; the highest-ranked firm will negotiate a contract at fair and reasonable compensation, and the district may proceed to the next-ranked vendor if negotiations with the top candidate fail.

The scope encompasses comprehensive architectural design and related architectural services for the gymnasium addition, including potential additional services to be negotiated post-award. Work will be performed under AIA Document B101 terms. Firms must hold current professional liability insurance with errors and omissions coverage of at least $1,000,000 annual aggregate and must be properly licensed to conduct business in Utah. Any firm employees working at district sites must pass background checks at vendor expense. Vendors must certify they are not debarred or suspended from government work.

The evaluation committee will rank proposals on four weighted criteria: firm qualifications and experience (20 points), strength of proposed team and individual references (35 points), past performance and references with emphasis on school construction (25 points), and design ability demonstrated on similar projects (20 points). Professional liability insurance with a minimum $1,000,000 annual aggregate is required. Contract awards will grant the district ownership of all intellectual property developed under the engagement. The district retains the right to terminate with or without cause upon appropriate notice, and pricing is guaranteed for the specified contract period.
