About this opportunity
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Department of Correction (DOC), is seeking multiple contractors to provide commercial and/or household grade liquid and powdered laundry chemicals for its 16 correctional facilities across the state. The RFR # 19-DOC-1000-LAUNDRY covers a wide range of laundry products including detergents, bleach, softeners, and sours for machines ranging from 9-35 pounds for household grade and 65-100 pounds for commercial use. Respondents must submit their proposals by February 6, 2019, with an estimated contract start date of March 1, 2019. The initial contract term is up to 2 years, with 3 optional renewal periods of up to 3 years each. Pricing will be evaluated based on a market basket approach, and the DOC currently spends approximately $980,515 annually on laundry cleaning supplies.
The RFR has a mandatory Supplier Diversity Program (SDP) commitment that will be evaluated as at least 10% of the total score. Respondents must identify the percentage of contract sales they will spend with certified Minority/Women Business Enterprises (M/WBEs), Minority/Women Nonprofit Organizations (M/WNPOs), Veteran Business Enterprises (VBEs), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBEs). The current incumbent vendors providing laundry services to the DOC include Corporate Cleaning Services, LLC, Custom Chemical Co. Inc., EBP Supply Solutions, Milhench Inc, and Savin Products Co., Inc. The Commonwealth makes no guarantee of any purchases under the resulting contract.
