About this opportunity

Suffolk County Department of Health Services is soliciting qualified providers for diagnostic radiology services through an RFQ posted September 4, 2026, with responses accepted on a rolling basis through February 28, 2031 and technical questions due February 18, 2031.

Services include chest radiographs (CPT codes 71045-71048) and computed tomography scans (CPT codes 71250-71270) performed by New York State licensed radiologic technologists under supervision of board-certified radiologists. Services must be delivered at the contractor's location with emergency results communicated immediately by phone and fax, abnormal results within one business day, and written reports within three business days. The county reserves the right to award contracts to multiple qualified responders.

The contract term runs January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2031. Compensation is determined through a referral system based on patient insurance status and county reimbursement responsibility. The contractor may accept third-party insurance claims with the county covering copayments and deductibles; accept insurance payment as full payment with no county balance billing; or accept the New York State Medicaid Physician/Radiology Services Fee Schedule as full payment. The county will reimburse for uninsured patients with tuberculosis-related diagnoses and copayments for insured county employees and prospective employees undergoing OSHA testing. The county reserves the right to modify the payment structure with advance notice; contractors may decline proposed changes without contract penalty.

Respondents must provide professional liability insurance of not less than $2,000,000 and commercial general liability of $2,000,000 per occurrence, along with proof of licenses for all radiologic technologists and board-certified radiologists. Responses must be submitted in original plus two copies in tabbed binder format to Susan Gudema, Department of Health Services, 3500 Sunrise Highway, Suite 124, Great River, NY 11739-9006. Suffolk County compliance forms, including employment eligibility verification, living wage certifications (mandating minimum $17.86 per hour with benefits or $18.02 without for service contracts valued at $10,000 or more), non-collusion affidavits, and disclosure statements, must accompany all responses.
