About this opportunity

Croswell-Lexington Community Schools is requesting proposals for design, supply, installation, and maintenance of digital signs at Meyer Elementary School and Frostick Elementary School in Michigan under RFP 2026-045, with sealed bids due October 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Contractors and subcontractors must hold current Michigan state project registrations per Public Act 110 (Prevailing Wage Act) and comply with prevailing wage requirements — a mandatory eligibility gate. Site visitation is recommended.

The scope includes installation of exterior LED digital signs at two school locations. At Meyer Elementary (7201 Lake Street, Lexington, Michigan), the sign is a 2-foot-0-inch height by 9-foot-0-inch width LED display housed in a 4-foot-8-inch by 9-foot-3-inch steel tube cabinet painted brown-blue, mounted on two 3-inch square poles with reinforced concrete footing and 20-inch channel letters with white plexiglass face and blue and black vinyl. Frostick Elementary (57 South Howard Avenue, Croswell, Michigan) specifies a 2-foot-5-inch high by 9-foot-3-inch wide LED display cabinet with 2-foot-0-inch high by 9-foot-0-inch wide display area, also with 20-inch letter height channel letters and similar materials. Both installations require electrical work including a new NEMA 3R weatherproof disconnect switch, new 20-ampere 2-pole breaker, new 1-1/4-inch conduit with #12 AWG minimum THHN wiring, and compliance with 2023 National Electrical Code, 2023 Michigan Electrical Code, and 2021 Michigan Building Code.

Work must commence November 30, 2026 with substantial completion by May 15, 2027. Schools remain operational during construction; truck deliveries must avoid student drop-off and pick-up times. Bid security of 5% is required for bids exceeding $50,000. Performance and Payment Bonds at 100% of contract sum are required if the award exceeds $50,000. Contract award is anticipated November 9, 2026. Bids must include sworn and notarized familial disclosure statement, Iran Economic Sanctions Act compliance certification, asbestos-free product certification, and non-collusive affidavits. Bid security remains firm for 90 calendar days from the due date.
