About this opportunity
This procurement was closed. The City of College Park issued RFP 011922 for GIS Technician Services with a proposal due date of January 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., but the Award Information file indicates the solicitation was withdrawn on April 5, 2022, prior to contract award.
For historical reference: The City sought a part-time junior GIS technician on a one-year term with possible extensions to maintain mapping and GIS applications, perform field data collection for utilities and infrastructure within College Park city limits, compile data in Access databases connected to SQL servers, and create GIS drawings using ArcGIS. Approximately 30 percent of work involved field operations; 70 percent was in-office. The City would provide ArcGIS Pro, Desktop, and Survey 123 through an Esri Small Government Agreement; contractors were required to furnish or secure their own professional GPS hardware and field data collection equipment.
Minimum qualifications included a Bachelor's degree in GIS or similar field, proven GIS technician experience, integrated GPS and GIS principles understanding, advanced computer programming and data analysis skills, proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD, and a valid Georgia driver's license. Optional certifications were GISP, Geospatial Intelligence, and Remote Sensing credentials.
Insurance requirements included general liability at $1 million minimum, automobile liability at $500,000 minimum, and workers' compensation as required by Georgia law. A 5% bid bond was required, with performance and payment bonds at 100% of contract amount due upon Notice to Proceed. Compensation was submitted as a monthly lump sum covering all costs. Questions were due January 11, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. EST; addenda were published by January 14 at 4:00 p.m. EST. The City reserved the right to reject all bids and would make award decisions within 90 days of bid opening, selecting the most responsive and responsible bidder rather than necessarily the lowest proposal.
