About this opportunity

Gordon County School System is requesting proposals for design, supply, and installation of a bus wash system at the Holland Complex Transportation facility in Calhoun, Georgia, with proposals due October 31, 2022, and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on October 17, 2022. A local-bidder preference grants an additional 10 points if all other factors are equal and pricing is within 5% of the lowest proposal, with "local" defined as a provider with a physical point-of-sale in Gordon County, Georgia.

The scope includes a hybrid drive-through bus wash system with automated exterior and undercarriage washing for all fleet vehicles, hot-water delivery via a 199,999 BTU natural gas heater, multiple wash arches with detergent injection, tire guides, photo-sensor controls, programmable logic controller, and a water recycling system capable of removing up to 98% of particles. The system must also include a three-camera monitoring system and a steam cleaner/pressure washer unit, installed at 1300 Dews Pond Road, Calhoun, Georgia.

The contract term is one year from the date of substantial completion for warranty purposes. All pricing must remain firm for the entire contract period with no price increases, fuel surcharges, or add-on costs permitted; shipping costs must be included in the total bid price. Bids exceeding $100,000 require a 5% surety bid bond and 100% Performance and Payment Bonds issued by a Corporate Surety authorized in Georgia.

Proposals are evaluated on a weighted basis: compliance with RFP specifications (10 points), firm qualifications (10 points), responsiveness and completeness of required forms (20 points), experience with Georgia school districts (20 points), and overall cost (40 points). Vendors must submit three reference letters from similar institutions, current business licenses, proof of bonding history, drug-free workplace certification, E-Verify compliance documentation, and certificates of non-discrimination and non-collusion. Written questions are due October 21, 2022, by 12:00 PM EST; responses will be provided by October 24, 2022. Truckers Best Chemicals, Inc. was selected as the successful bidder.
