About this opportunity
Columbus Consolidated Government is requesting bids on roll carpet, tile carpet, carpet base materials, and installation services for various city and county facilities under RFB No. 27-0015, with bids due November 18, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time via electronic submission through OpenBids. A local-vendor preference applies: businesses within two percent of the low bid (contracts under $50,000) or one percent (contracts over $50,000) receive preferential consideration.
The scope encompasses carpet products and installation on an as-needed basis across Columbus Consolidated Government facilities. Vendors must supply pricing for roll carpet, tile carpet, and carpet base materials; provide a percentage discount for unspecified carpet and related items not listed in the pricing pages; and cover all shipping, delivery, freight, and handling charges within unit bid prices with no additional charges permitted.
The contract term is two years with an option to renew for three additional twelve-month periods contingent upon mutual agreement and funding approval by City Council. Pricing shall remain fixed for the initial two-year term; price escalation requests after the initial term are limited to five percent unless accompanied by manufacturer documentation justifying higher increases.
Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Insurance requirements include General Liability, Workers' Compensation (statutory), Contractual Liability, Automobile Liability, Errors and Omissions, and Umbrella/Excess Liability (each at $1 million where specified), with the City named as additional insured. A notarized E-Verify Affidavit confirming compliance with Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act requirements is mandatory for contract award. The City reserves the right to request product demonstrations or site visits at the bidder's expense during evaluation and to reject any or all bids, cancel the solicitation, or add related items to the contract after award. A virtual bid opening will occur during the 3:00 p.m. hour on the due date via Microsoft Teams.
