About this opportunity

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Parks, is requesting bids for structural repairs and modifications at General Butler State Resort Park in Carrollton, Kentucky under RFB-22-27, with bids due August 19, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for July 22, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time at the lodge. Addendum One, posted August 13, 2026, moves the bid deadline to August 19 and requires submission of a revised Subcontractor List identifying proposed subcontractors for demolition, earthwork, fire protection, concrete, structural steel, and rough carpentry — all subject to Division approval.

The scope comprises repair and replacement of deteriorated concrete elements including retaining walls, slabs-on-grade, and elevated slabs; modification of sidewalks and ramps on the north side of the building to address varying finish floor elevations; and removal and replacement of three sets of stairs — two wooden stairs at the north and south building ends to be replaced with steel stringers and precast concrete treads, and one timber-framed stair on the west side to be replaced with a similar timber-framed stair.

Bidders must register in the Vendor Self Service (VSS) System prior to submission and allow 24–48 hours for registration completion. All bids must be submitted electronically through the Commonwealth's eProcurement system as a single combined PDF containing the Official Bid Document and Bid Bond; postal and hand-delivered bids will not be accepted. Bidders must enter the actual contract amount on the Official Bid Document itself, not in the system line item. Plan and specification documents are available at no charge through https://www.stateofkyplanroom.com; only planholders who download from the state plan room will receive addenda. Procurement questions should be directed to Purchasing Agent Susan Ward at (502) 226-0335 or Susan.Ward@ky.gov. The project architect is Mark Simpson; Project Manager is David Trautwein.
