A mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 25, 2026 at the Powell County Extension Office in Stanton, Kentucky, followed by a trailhead visit 0.8 miles down an access trail with 100–250 feet of elevation change.

The scope encompasses site characterization, development of a remedial action plan, removal of TENORM-contaminated soil and materials (including VOCs, metals, and radium), contractor-managed sample collection and analysis prior to disposal, off-site waste disposal, site restoration to original grade, and vegetation. The contractor must provide expedited confirmatory sampling with analytical turnaround times of three days for volatile organic compounds, semi-volatile organic compounds, and RCRA 8 metals, and 21-day ingrowth analysis for combined Radium-226 and Radium-228; standard radium analysis laboratory turnaround is 20 business days. Solidification of sludges using cement mixture may be conducted at the site. The contractor is responsible for installation and removal of temporary 6-foot steel fencing; constructed access roadway improvements will remain in place.
