About this opportunity

The State of Utah is issuing a Request for Information on office furniture and related services in collaboration with NASPO ValuePoint, with responses due June 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. MST. This RFI is preliminary market research and does not constitute a procurement process or binding contract opportunity; responses will not be evaluated for awards but may inform future competitive solicitations.

The RFI seeks supplier input across six product categories: Office Seating and Accessories; Lounge and Public Seating and Accessories; Desks and Tables and Accessories; Panel Systems and Accessories; Storage and Accessories; and Architectural Products and Accessories. The potential resolicitation would serve all participating states and US territories for the period 2027–2032. Utah requests feedback on category consolidation or expansion, value-added services, product warranties (specifically 10-year warranties including color fastness and textiles), complimentary versus fee-based service offerings, scope of work considerations, competitive impact of restrictive requirements, and tariff implications.

Submissions are made through U3P (the Utah Public Procurement Place) and must include company name, company representative information, phone number, and email address. Vendors responding with proprietary information may file a Business Confidentiality Claim under Utah Code 63G-2-305 to protect trade secrets and commercial financial information; claimants must submit both redacted and non-redacted versions, with the entire proposal prohibited from redaction. Non-response does not preclude participation in any subsequent RFP if issued. Vendors should not contact the State regarding this RFI; all communication must occur through RFI response or the Q&A period.

Opportunity text

The purpose of this RFI is to: obtain information, comments, or suggestions from potential vendors before issuing an invitation for bids or request for proposals; determine whether to issue an invitation for bids or a request for proposals; and generate interest in a potential invitation for bids or a request for proposals. Vendors should not contact the State regarding this RFI. All communication should be either by responding to this RFI or by submitting a question during the question and answer period. This RFI is not a procurement process and may not be used to make a purchase or enter into a contract. A procurement unit is required to use a standard procurement process, or comply with an exception to the requirement to use a standard procurement process described in Part 8, Exceptions to Procurement Requirements, in order to make a purchase or enter into a contract. A response to a request for information is not an offer and may not be accepted to form a binding contract. Information submitted to or by a governmental entity in response to a request for information is protected under Section 63G-2-305.
