About this opportunity
The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking to determine the availability of international visitation data services for Broward County, with a specific focus on Travel Market Insights, Inc. (TMII). The procurement aims to obtain comprehensive international visitor data, particularly from Canada and Mexico, to support tourism analysis and economic impact assessment. Key deliverables include visitor profiles, demographic characteristics, and volumetric data to help estimate the economic impact of international visitors on a country-by-country basis. The RFI is specifically designed to assess whether TMII is a sole or reasonable source provider for this specialized data, with critical objectives including evaluating potential impacts of travel restrictions, preparing for the 2026 International Pow Wow (IPW) Conference, and analyzing international travel trends. The procurement timeline is relatively compressed, with the RFI posted on November 7, 2025, and responses due by November 14, 2025, indicating a short window for potential vendors to submit information.
The RFI does not explicitly outline set-aside designations or specific restrictions on responding organizations. Travel Market Insights, Inc. appears to be the incumbent and potentially sole-source provider for this specialized international visitation data. While no specific budget range is disclosed, the procurement is focused on obtaining critical tourism intelligence for Visit Lauderdale's strategic planning. The data will be particularly important for assessing Canadian and Mexican travel patterns, especially in light of potential U.S. government tariffs or travel restrictions. The scope of services suggests a need for detailed, nuanced international visitor data that can support economic impact analysis and tourism strategy development. No specific integration requirements with existing technology infrastructure are mentioned in the RFI documentation, though the data is intended to support the organization's broader tourism marketing and economic research efforts.

This Request for Information (RFI) (Notice of Intent to Designate Sole Source) is to determine if the specified commodity or service is available from multiple providers, or if an alternate commodity or service is available that would meet the County's needs. This is not a request for pricing or a purchase commitment. The following commodity or service is thought to be available from only a sole source (or reasonable source) and is the only commodity/services that meets the County's needs: - Travel Market Insights, Inc.; (TMII) International Visitation Data for overseas countries, including Canada and Mexico The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB), also known as Visit promotes the Greater Fort Lauderdale area as a premier year-round leisure and meeting destination. Greater Fort Lauderdale welcomes visitors from across the globe, and nearly 50% of those visitors are from Canada. The GFLCVB is requesting Reasonable Source approval for Travel Market Insights, Inc. (TMII) to provide international visitor data, including from Canada and Mexico. This data will enable Visit Lauderdale to: • Estimate the economic impact of international visitors on Broward County on a country-by-country basis, and • Assess the potential impacts of reduced Canadian travel resulting from U.S. government-imposed tariffs or related threats Additionally, in 2026, Visit Fort Lauderdale will host an International Pow Wow (IPW) Conference. In anticipation of this event, estimation of Canadian and Mexican data as well as the other overseas countries are critical to measurement of the level of international travel to Broward County. As such, TMII could provide access to Canada-United States visitation numbers that are unique and critical to determining the return on investment for the 2026 IPW Conference. The scope of services performed by TMII includes, but are not limited to: - Provide Visit Fort Lauderdale with visitor profiles (characteristics and demographics) and volumetrics for County to establish a strategic plan pre- and post IPW 2026; 2024-2027 - Provide subscription to overseas, Canadian and Mexican Travel Data - Provide real-time dashboard with 24/7 availability that measures the volume and changes to visitation from other countries at individual and regional levels - Provides travel spend at the country-specific or regional level This RFI will remain posted until closing date and time. Prospective Vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to provide the commodity or service described or written explanation or other documentation contesting the proposed RFI designation. If you are capable of meeting or exceeding the County's requirements for the specified commodity or service, respond to this RFI through the electronic bidding system. Vendor should upload any supporting information in the electronic bidding system as part of its response to assist the County in determining if commodity or service is comparable, is available from multiple suppliers, and meets the County's needs. The Director of Purchasing shall have sole authority in deciding what is comparable. The Director of Purchasing shall consider such submittals and notify all submitting vendors (thru the electronic bidding system) of the decision whether to designate as a Sole Source/Brand, which decision shall not be subject to objection, protest, or appeal.
