UNSPSC 90121601: Passport services

UNSPSC 90121601 Passport services, a Commodity code, does not reflect the work actually being solicited by state and local governments under this classification in recent activity. The recent opportunities block contains nine travel-related solicitations posted between May and October 2026, but none involve passport issuance, renewal, expediting, or any immigration document services. Instead, the opportunities span travel agency services, tour operator and travel trade marketing, athletic air charter, study abroad program coordination, and paratransit operations—none of which fall within the passport services scope. The mismatch suggests either systematic miscoding at issuing offices or a data classification error in the source material.

The issuers span multiple state and local sectors: school districts (Pinellas County Schools in Florida), state departments (Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget; Texas Department of Transportation; Georgia Department of Transportation), county convention and visitors bureaus (Monroe County Tourist Development Council, Broward County Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB, Collier County), transit authorities (Orange County Transportation Authority in California), and institutions of higher education (University of Houston-Downtown, Texas Southern University, University of Oregon). No recent opportunities tagged to UNSPSC 90121601 are actually soliciting passport services. The code shows no relevant recent activity in state and local procurement.
