About this opportunity
The State of Maine Division of Purchases, on behalf of the Department of Public Safety Maine State Police, is requesting quotations for custodial services at Ellsworth Barracks, Troop J, with quotes due June 9, 2010.
The scope covers cleaning and maintenance of approximately 2,300 square feet at 180 Bangor Road, Ellsworth, Maine. Weekly cleaning occurs Mondays and Thursdays; monthly tasks are scheduled for the first Saturday of each month; bi-annual carpet shampooing is performed in April and September. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on designated days. The contractor must provide all labor, equipment, supplies, supervision, and materials except light bulbs, liquid bathroom soap, paper products, and trash bags, which the State supplies. Equipment requirements include a commercial/industrial vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter capability and self-contained carpet cleaning equipment capable of 50 PSI with 100 inches of water lift.
The contract term runs from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. A preference for Certified Work Centers applies where proposed costs are comparable to other general contractor proposals.
Contractor personnel must obtain approval from the Troop Commander and cannot have criminal history records or extensive motor vehicle records. Insurance requirements include Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability; Commercial General Liability of $300,000 per occurrence; and Automobile Liability of $300,000 per occurrence, with the State named as an additional insured.
Prospective bidders must contact Lt. Chris Coleman at 207-532-5423 prior to quote opening to inspect the facility. Pricing must be submitted in three formats—total three-year contract cost, monthly bid price, and yearly price—via the Vendor Self Service (VSS) bidding system. Payment is made in equal monthly installments upon receipt of invoices, with deductions allowed for incomplete work or insufficient staffing as determined by the Owner's Representative.
