About this opportunity
The City of Austin is requesting bids for rental, delivery, maintenance, and service of portable refrigerated containers for DNA evidence storage at the Austin Forensic Science Evidence Unit under IFB 9000 ACA1011REBID, with bids due September 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. Local and Small Businesses receive a 5% discount on bids up to $500,000 or 3% on bids between $500,000 and $50 million; both discounts apply to entities qualifying as both Local and Small Businesses.
The scope covers four unit types: 8' X 20' and 8' X 40' ground-level walk-in containers (800 and 2,000 cubic feet respectively) and 8' X 20' and 8' X 40' dock-level height units (800 and 2,000 cubic feet respectively), each with an estimated annual quantity of 12 monthly rentals. Pricing is structured in three categories: monthly rental rates for specified equipment, materials at a maximum 25% markup (estimated annual material spend of $5,000), and optional additional related services at proposed labor rates. All pricing must be all-inclusive of administrative fees, overhead, per diem, shipping, and transportation to the Austin area with no separate charges permitted. The City reserves the right to award a single contract or make multiple awards based on overall low cost, individual line items, categories, or other criteria deemed advantageous.
Questions are due September 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The contract commences upon execution and continues until all obligations are performed, with the City retaining the right to extend at its sole option. Contractor must comply with wage theft prevention ordinances and complete wage theft training within 30 days of contract execution. All invoices must be paid within 30 calendar days of receipt. No pre-offer conference or site visit is mandatory.
