About this opportunity
The City of Beaverton, Oregon is requesting proposals for relocation of the Firestone sewer lateral and abandonment of the existing sewer main along SW Canyon Road, with proposals due August 12, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The City has an aspirational goal of 15% utilization of state-certified COBID companies and requires contractors to identify any COBID certifications held.
The project scope includes relocating the Firestone sewer lateral to connect to the sewer main on SW Cedar Hills Boulevard via a new manhole using a combination of trenchless and open-trench construction methods, followed by abandonment of the existing sewer main along SW Canyon Road and removal of two existing cleanouts and one sewer manhole. Deliverables include mobilization, work zone traffic control, erosion control, 4-inch sanitary sewer lateral installation, 48-inch manhole installation, filling abandoned structures, concrete sidewalk and bay repair, and trench resurfacing with grind and inlay. All work must comply with ASTM standards, OSHA regulations, City of Beaverton and Clean Water Services standards, and ODOT standards including pavement restoration guidelines. Contractors must obtain all necessary permits and approvals and submit a traffic control plan approved by the City Traffic Engineer; the City has already obtained ODOT and sewer permits. All work shall be performed between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Work is anticipated to commence by September 14, 2026. The City reserves the right to renew the contract for up to one additional one-year term at its discretion. The procurement is being conducted as an Informal Solicitation under Beaverton Purchasing Code Section 47-0290, with the expectation of a single contract award. Contractors must obtain a City business license, complete IRS Form W-9, and maintain specified insurance requirements. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the City's portal. The City reserves the right to withdraw any items from award consideration and is not obligated to enter into a contract with any proposer.
