About this opportunity
Rabun County Schools is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the procurement of office and classroom furniture for the new Rabun County High School Admin and Academic Building located at 230 Wildcat Hill, Tiger, Georgia. The solicitation seeks comprehensive furniture packages including classroom teacher desks and chairs, filing cabinets, office chairs, guest chairs, conference tables, bookcases, and related furnishings with an estimated 41 classroom teacher desks, 44 classroom teacher chairs, 71 filing cabinets, 17 office chairs, 40 guest chairs, and various other items specified in the RFP. Preferred brands include HON 10500 series desks, Sit-On-It brand chairs with leather or faux leather/vinyl with mesh backing, task lights, tackboards with hutches, and metal bookcases in black, though equivalent products meeting specifications are acceptable alternatives. The selected contractor must provide complete delivery, installation, setup, placement, design assistance if needed, property protection during installation, and removal of all debris, with the building expected to be completed by May 2026 and furniture installation targeted for June 30, 2026. Proposals will be evaluated on product design, durability and fitness for use (30 points), price (40 points), warranty (10 points), ability to meet setup and installation dates (15 points), and references (5 points), for a total of 100 points. The RFP was issued on June 13, 2025, with inquiries due by July 4, 2025, and proposals due by July 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM EST; proposals must remain valid for 90 days following the due date. Proposers may be required to participate in oral presentations at times and locations determined by Rabun County Schools.
No set-aside designations or restrictions limiting organizational eligibility have been identified in the solicitation materials. The selected contractor must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000 per person and $2,000,000 per accident, provide a performance bond before work commences, and comply with Georgia's Security and Immigration Compliance Act by registering with E-Verify. Contractors must also comply with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), coordinate with the general contractor Carroll Daniel Construction Company, and meet all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed in the available documentation. A single award is anticipated to one vendor, and the RFP is not subject to state of Georgia contract requirements. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the solicitation materials; however, pricing must be comprehensive and include all costs for delivery, installation, setup, and related services. Award shall be made to the offeror deemed most qualified and best suited based on the established evaluation criteria, with Rabun County Schools reserving the right to reject all proposals or cancel the RFP at any time.
