About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is seeking a contractor to perform repairs to floor drains and traps in 10 restrooms at Stonelick State Park, located in Pleasant Plain, Clermont County. The project stems from a previous floor refinishing project in 2024 where epoxy inadvertently clogged floor drains and traps. The scope of work requires the selected contractor to cut and demolish a 2-foot by 2-foot concrete section around each drain, remove and replace floor drains and traps, inspect pipe conditions, and restore the concrete flooring with proper drainage slopes. Contractors must follow proper safety procedures, plumbing practices, and codes, and obtain all necessary permits and inspections. The project has a completion/delivery date of March 1, 2025, with work to be performed during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). Prospective bidders are encouraged to schedule a site visit with DeWayne Terwilleger, NRT Supervisor/Maintenance Manager, prior to submitting a bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with evaluation based on the lowest lot total determined by multiplying unit costs by estimated usage.
The solicitation encourages participation from diverse vendors and requires the lowest apparent bidder to provide two examples of similar completed projects, including photos and references. While no specific set-aside designations are explicitly mentioned, the state typically promotes participation from Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) vendors. Contractors must complete a pre-award meeting with DNR staff to ensure mutual understanding of materials and scope. The contract requires comprehensive insurance coverage, including Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Workers' Compensation. Contractors must affirm that services will be performed within the United States and that no offshore services or data storage will be utilized. While a specific budget range is not provided, the project involves repairs to 10 restroom floor drains, suggesting a moderate-scale maintenance contract. The contract period appears to run through June 30, 2025, with any services after that date requiring a new purchase order.
