About this opportunity

The City of Fort Worth, Texas, Transportation and Public Works Department is requesting bids on the Exposition Way Slope Stabilization Project (City Project No. 105816), with bids due September 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM CDT via the Bonfire portal and a mandatory pre-bid conference held on September 1, 2026.

The City has established a 30% small business utilization goal requiring bidders to meet or exceed this threshold through self-performance and/or small business subcontracting. Certified small business firms must be located in Denton, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant, or Wise counties and hold certification from NCTRCA, WBCS, DFW BC, Texas HUB Program, TUP, or TxDOT.

The scope includes approximately 992 square yards of slope stabilization; 1,363 linear feet of 6-inch pipe subdrain (Type 8); 8,550 square yards of 7-inch concrete pavement removal and replacement; 135 linear feet of stacked stone wall grout repair; and 30 linear feet of stacked masonry stone wall removal and replacement (4 to 8 feet height). The work is organized into two units: Unit 1 addresses paving work and Unit 2 addresses slope stabilization. Unclassified excavation, removal, and hauling required for flexible base placement and all mobilization costs are subsidiary work with no separate payment and must be included in unit prices. The contractor may elect machine paving at its discretion.

Contractor or designated subcontractor prequalification is required for certain improvements at the time of bid opening. All contractors and subcontractors must maintain current workers compensation insurance coverage as required by Texas law. The City will award to the lowest-priced responsive bidder considering qualifications and competencies.

The pre-bid conference occurred on September 1, 2026. The question period runs through September 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM CDT. An Addendum No. 1 was issued on September 14, 2026 and must be acknowledged by bidders or they face disqualification. Project Manager Iretomiwa Otuyelu is available at 817-392-6747 or Iretomiwa.Otuyelu@fortworthtexas.gov. City Council bid award target is October 20, 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in January 2027.
