About this opportunity
The City of Fort Worth is requesting bids for the installation of approximately 1,530 linear feet of 24-inch PVC water line on Comancheria Way (City Project Number 106854), with electronic bids due August 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST and a non-mandatory pre-bid conference on August 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Bidders must be prequalified by the City at the time of bid opening for water distribution work involving 24-inch diameter pipe; prequalification applications are due seven calendar days prior to bid opening. The project is a Developer Awarded Project with GBTM Sendera LLC as the developer.
The scope comprises two units. Unit I includes approximately 1,530 linear feet of 24-inch PVC water line installed via open-cut method with one 20-linear-foot crossing encased in CSS backfill, two 24-inch gate valves with vaults, one 8-inch blow-off valve with a 6-foot manhole, one 4-inch combination air release valve with a 6-foot manhole, one connection to an existing 30-inch water main, and one 24-inch pressure plug. Unit II covers erosion control improvements: construction entrance, 1,548 linear feet of silt fence, and a washdown area. Bidders must be prequalified for water distribution and 24-inch water line work types as well as erosion control measures. The contractor must perform at least 35 percent of the work with its own organization unless approved otherwise by the City.
A bid bond equal to 5 percent of the maximum bid price, payable to the City and issued by an approved surety, is required. Upon award, the contractor must execute a contract within 14 days and provide performance, payment, and maintenance bonds. Liquidated damages are $500 per day for delays beyond the contract completion date. Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, pending City Council authorization within 90 days of bid opening.
Compliance requirements include worker's compensation certification under Texas Labor Code Section 406.096, conflict of interest certification or disclosure, and MBE/SBE participation goals per City of Fort Worth standard specifications. All contract documents are available through the City's Procurement Portal at fortworthtexas.bonfirehub.com/portal.
