About this opportunity
The City of Fort Worth is requesting bids on open-cut water pipeline extensions at the Westside Water Treatment Plant (WS-3 and WS-4), with bids due October 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST and a pre-bid conference held September 22, 2026. A 30 percent Small Business Enterprise (SBE) goal applies; SBE firms must be certified by the North Central Texas Certification Agency, Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Development Council, Women's Business Council Southwest, or Texas Department of Transportation and maintain a business address in Denton, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant, or Wise counties.
The scope comprises 609 linear feet of 16-inch ductile iron pipe water line, 599 linear feet of 36-inch ductile iron pipe water line, 439 linear feet of common trench with granular embedment, 154 linear feet of concrete-encased common trench, gate valves, air release valve assemblies, manholes, concrete driveway demolition and repair, wrought iron fence and brick column work, and surface restoration and sodding. Construction must achieve substantial completion within 180 days and final acceptance within 210 days. Work requires coordination with plant operations and advance notification of facility shutdowns for connections to existing steel pipelines on the HSPS Discharge Header using welded steel tees and spool pieces.
The estimated construction cost is $1.5 million. Bid pricing follows a unit-price format across 26 line items plus a $50,000 construction allowance. Prequalification is mandatory; applications were due at least seven calendar days before the October 1 bid opening. Questions were due September 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Bidders were required to submit intent to bid before the deadline. Addendum No. 1 was issued and all current requirements are binding on bidders. Plans and specifications are available on the Bonfire procurement portal.
