About this opportunity

Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is requesting sealed bids on thermoplastic traffic stripe materials for an annual contract (BL085-22), with bids due September 15, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. local time at the Department of Finance, Purchasing Division in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and public opening immediately following.

The scope comprises 12 line items of preformed thermoplastic bars in various sizes and colors (white, yellow, and blue/white); specialty items including handicap kits, traffic legends ("School," letter "R," and "Stop"), rib line kits, and turn arrows; and bulk heat-degradable thermoplastic bags in white and yellow totaling 130,000 pounds in 50-pound units per pallet. All materials must comply with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications Section 653.1–653.2.01. Estimated annual quantities range from 5 pieces for handicap kits to 120,000 pounds for white thermoplastic bags. The successful bidder must warrant all materials against manufacturing defects for no less than one year from delivery and furnish smaller quantities at no increase in unit price if required by the county. Orders for line items 1–10 are placed by the box; items 11–12 are ordered by the pallet.

The contract includes an initial term with four renewal options. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract period, with renewal pricing subject to percentage adjustments clearly noted by the bidder and not to exceed stated limits. The previous contract awarded to Geveko Markings, Inc. valued $33,880.00.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder; the county reserves the right to make multiple awards. Bids must be submitted in duplicate with references demonstrating similar project experience and a completed Code of Ethics Affidavit. No bid bond is required. Questions are due by 10:00 A.M. on September 1, 2022, directed to Lindsey Gravitt, Purchasing Associate II. Apparent bid results are published the following business day on www.gwinnettcounty.com. The county requires vendors to indicate whether they maintain a location within Gwinnett County and uses electronic payments for remittance.
