About this opportunity

Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is requesting sealed bids on MSA Cairns 1010 firefighter helmets with Defender Shield visors and replacement parts on an annual contract (BL096-22), with bids due August 26, 2022 at 2:50 p.m. No equivalent products are accepted — the specification is restricted to MSA Cairns components only, a single-source requirement that determines vendor eligibility.

The scope comprises three line items: 120 helmets annually configured as Cairns 1010 with Defender Amber visor, FDNY 6-inch front passport style 47, and style 48 insert; 50 front shield frames (style 47); and 100 front shield inserts (style 48). All delivery is F.O.B. destination to Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services at 450 Hosea Road, Lawrenceville, Georgia. Unit prices must include all associated fees and shipping.

The contract commences October 7, 2022, or upon Board approval, with an initial one-year term followed by four optional one-year renewal periods. Bidders may propose percentage increases or decreases for each renewal option with explanations. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract term.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Bidders must submit a Code of Ethics Affidavit, three relevant references, and a non-collusion certification. Compliance with Georgia's Illegal Immigration Reform Enhancements for 2013 applies if the contract value exceeds $2,499.99. No bid bonds are required.

Bidders must acknowledge receipt of Addendum #1 (issued August 9, 2022) and Addendum #2 (issued August 19, 2022) and return signed copies with their bid submission; failure to do so may result in bid rejection. Questions are due August 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Public opening and reading occur at 3:00 p.m. on August 26. Apparent bid results will be posted on the County website the following business day. Contact: Casey Beauston, Purchasing Associate II, casey.beauston@gwinnettcounty.com, 770-822-7995. Firms on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list are prohibited from submitting offers.
